Literature

This is the main literature page and the heart of this site. Here you'll eventually find a large collection of fox stories, essays on the role of the fox in traditional cultures, and lists of frequently asked questions. If you have anything you wish to contribute, either traditional or original, please send it to me.

Traditional Stories

Currently, they all come from China or Japan, but I will be expanding the collection in the future to include fox stories from other countries. These stories come from folk tales and legends or were written a very long time ago and can be considered part of the country's cultural legacy and representative of the foxes in that country's tradition.

Original Stories

Original fox stories submitted by Kitsune.org's readers. Imitations of traditional stories, old stories with a new twist, and completely original works are all welcome. Please send any submissions to me if you would like to see them posted.

Essays

Scholarly essays concerning the mechanics of folk tales or the role of the fox in traditional society. If you run across an old article that is not listed here, please let me know.

Frequently Offered eXplanations (F.O.X.s)

Okay, so I was stretching that one a bit. This would be a FAQ section, but I find that I give out this information far more frequently than I am actually asked for it.
